We are 3rd owners of this 05 H2, most of the miles were driven by my father in law in the eastern PA area. He bought it just about brand new. Still drives, lots of fun.
I am original owner bought it in 2003. Everyone always telling me to get rid of it, I don't see the point. It's rarely in the shop for major maintenance and its parts that are original. Its to be expected when you have close to 400000 miles and live in the north with snow/salt. I love my Hummer H2 and going to ride it until the wheels fall off.
Awesome vehicle. And I donŐt baby it.
The beast has been performing like magic until the power steering pump went out at 300k. Brakes done as well.
Required new Transfer case, water pump, starter, alternator, catalytic converters and regular maintenance.

Still drives like a cloud. Original motor. New Trans @150,000. Power steering box, master cylinder, brake boost @300,000.
Runs and drives great. Only had to put new trans in at 191,000.
She's been a labor of love, but the H2 is my dream truck. I would do it all over again if I had to.
Original owner, I got "lucky" when I took it in for transmission overhaul at approx 210,000 miles the transmission company managed to blow the engine ,Farmers Business Insurance paid to put in a replacement engine with 60,000 miles and a life time warranty. I will keep this as its been paid for since 2006 and the paint job looks perfect.
Never tuned it up. Never changed spark plugs, wires, anything. Gets 12 miles per gallon of gas. Put in a starter at 196,000 miles. Minor transmission work due to technician error when pan was dropped to change internal filter. Many, many off road miles hunting and fishing in back country of Utah, Montana, Wyoming, Idaho, and Colorado. Still gets Up and goes and I still drive it like I stole it.
2nd transmission and transfer case at 200k... Drivers hub replaced at 190k, passenger cv joint replaced at 155k... New tires every 70k.
4th owner , and still work fine. I hope it can go 100+ more.

Will never sell! Best truck I've ever owned!
LOVE THIS TRUCK | |||||
Purchased new in South Burlington VT - Original Tranny & Engine. Second set of brakes. Change that oil every 3 - 4,000 miles as opposed to the 6,000 recommended. Great truck - reliable, safe & built domestically. Thanks Am. Gen & G.M. for a wicked cool truck for as long as you were able to get 'em built!
Rebuilding engine now. All else original except minor stuff.
Runs better than new. | |||||
Still running strong. | |||||
i lovee my hummer , only problems i have had with this truck Is replace wheel bearing at 155k .. Recently rebuilt transmission at 165k. Other then that running strong i love my hummer . ,
Bought this from orig. owner in 2014 with 22,700 miles. He said he had done nothing to it except maintenance. We have driven it over 144,000 miles in less than 3 years. We have taken it up the Dalton to Deadhorse/Prudhoe Bay twice, up the Demster Highway to Inuvik, up the Trans-Taiga road to Caniapiscau (the most remote spot in North American that is on a road - almost 500 miles to the nearest town). We have taken it down to Cabo San Lucas, and all over the continental US. So far have had to replace knock sensors, crankshaft position sensor, air bags on rear suspension, exhaust manifold gaskets and bolts, switch for driver's seat heater and front brake pads. Plus FIVE new sets of tires, but that isn't the H2's problem. I have had the great luck with this H2. Had a different H2 that had more problems, but it was driven hard off-road almost exclusively. Still have my original H1 too, and have done nothing to it other than maintenance (and upgrades).
Highest mileage vehicle ever owned -- only problem is finding replacement interior door panels...smile

Engine and Trans are since new. Everything is working fine. No oil consumption. I am really happy with my Hummer!
Drive 40 miles to work everyday in it! Used to drive a car back and forth for work by gotten massive car accident and no longer fear safe and tiny cars. This is by far the most reliable and save his vehicle I have ever seen!

Amazing! Towing 27ft. travel trailer through rockies, city stop and go,bad winter conditions.
Great Man size truck.. I purchased it brand new. Can pull 30 foot campers like nobody business. Only major work was water pump replacement. Getting transfer case and pinion seals replaced right now. I don't like my truck leaking a drop of oil. Change oil every 3-6K miles using synthetic oil. I replaced master cylinder, brake booster, calipers, brakes, drums, rubber brake lines all around due to one new faulty caliper from a major auto parts company. I replaced all the brake related stuff above for nothing. Installed new shocks all around. I will keep this Hummer forever as my buddies continue to buy new trucks every 5 years. PS. My Hummer was able to pull my 40 foot RV out of the mud. I tow my H2 Hummer behind my RV everywhere I go.

I love my Hummer!!!!! Best car i ever bought!!! Everyone notices you driving down the road. I have never got stuck in a Chicago snow storm.I've had two minor issues, broken side mirror that was my fault and a window motor go out on me.i change the oil every 3,500 miles with synthetic oil. I have never had not one single problem with the HUMMER. I switched out the air intake to a cold intake and it seems with using synthetic oil and the cold airtake I get 19 miles in city and 21 on highway. Small cost to switch out air intake for the huge savings on Gas. I will keep my Hummer till the day I die or the body rust off the frame!!! I love my HUMMER!!!!
At 150k this H2 feels solid and i plan on putti g another 100k + ;-).....
Normal wear and tear, highly recommend rustproofing underbody.

Runs great. Love my Hummer. Normal maintenance. Just had to replace the air compressor and exhaust manifold, were the only costly repairs. Paint is still great. Run like a giant cadillac | -
Beautiful 2007 black H2 SUV w/ 8-inch Rancho lift and 38" x 15.5 Mickey Thompson ATZ tires. Rides great, all original, only minor maintenance so far. By far the best truck I have ever owned.
Great vehicle. | |||||
I love my Hummer H2. I have wanted one since they first came out in 2003 I wasn't able to get one until recently. Black with Nitto Grapplers GS and Rockstar XD wheels. One of the hood cables was missing, replaced both within 15 minutes. Only other thing was replaced the speed sensor for the speedometer. Other than that, she's an Awesome SUV of perfection! I would recommend the Hummer H2 for anyone looking for the perfect SUV. Extra Bonus, my wife loves it too! | Great Truck!!
