"After my first official Hummer outing this year the idea sparked within me to mount a camera behind the skid plate or front bumper to get some much more "in the action" shots than what you typically see in a video of Hummers driving. With the purchase of a watertight box, the canabilization of a webcam, and a couple hours of work between myself and Chris Strandt (many thanks to this man) we managed to get a mounted, working, watertight, weathertight, shockproof (ABS Resin, fiberglass re-inforced box), camera mounted safely behind the front bumper of my 02' Black Open Top. The cable runs through the firewall, is armored in duct tape no less, and the installation is most certainly a permanent one.
Needless to say the results were QUITE encouraging, and the following is a video from December 7th's (2002) IHOG Snow Pre-Run."
